Red Pavilion
Red Pavilion 2010 is a music stage situated in a public space. The pavilion is developed for the annual event “Aalborg in Red” an during four days in september it hosts a number of small concerts
The pavilion is designed to support the more experimental and electronically-based music and with its complex and graduating form it aids in the creation of an animated frame for the performers and their music. The structure simultaneously forms an urban wall with the ability of creating an intimate space on the open and windy harbor front in Aalborg.
The outer surface of the white pyramid-shaped components is utilized as an urban canvas for the projection of animated visuals that creates graphical movements across the structure thereby altering its visual expression as well as the atmosphere of the surrounding area.
The installation was designed and built by Electrotexture Lab. in cooperation with students from AD:MT (Department of Architecture, Design & Media Technology at Aalborg University) and was founded by the Municipality of Aalborg and AD:MT.
